shopping, in fact, that some tourists’ book flights into Southern
California just to visit the premiere shopping center located there,
South Coast Plaza.
South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa is a preferred stop on shopping
tours. Especially popular with travelers seeking designer names,
upscale boutiques and discount outlets offer everything from
clothing, shoes, handbags, luggage, jewelry and glass items to
designer foods.

County Performing Arts Center, South Coast Plaza shops span
several city blocks.
The new "Bridge of Gardens" takes you to both sides of South Coast
Plaza where you’ll take advantage of open-air plazas, fountains and
sidewalk cafés that merge together to create a dynamic mind and body
experience. Adjacent to South Coast Plaza is the charming South Coast
Plaza Village. For a refreshing break, a variety of intimate sidewalk
cafes and fine restaurants are abundant. The open-air Metro Pointe at
South Coast offers state-of-the-art movie theaters, unique
restaurants, apparel, home-accessory stores and more.
Costa Mesa is also famous for its annual county fair held in July.
Since it began in 1950, the event has grown from one week to
seventeen days, with name entertainment, contests, exhibits, the
latest thrill rides and food booths. The Fairgrounds also contain a
popular 3-acre working Centennial Farm, a weekly Farmers Market on
Thursdays, and Marketplace on Saturdays and Sundays, with booths
selling sunglasses, fragrances, clothes and more. The Fairgrounds
play host to a variety of events and shows which include the popular
Scottish Highland Games. |
